London is the European capital where most tourist fashion victims from outside of the EU went tax-free shopping in 2006, reports international leader of tax-free shopping Globalrefund (

Following the British capital in rank are Paris, Milan, Rome and Florence, respectively. Helsinki is in the 10th position, while Venice slips from the 10th slot to the 14th one.

According to the study the most beloved shopping street in all of Europe is glamorous Boulevard Haussmann in Paris, followed by London’s Knightsbridge and Oxford Street. Milan’s via Condotti and via Monenapoleone ranked 9th and 10th, respectively.

London, where 90% of all the UK’s shopping is done, registered a growth of 18% of buying, while Paris, where 80% of France’s buying is done, had a growth of 13%.
