Lakmé and IMG Fashion, organizers of Lakmé Fashion Week (LFW) in Mumbai, have confirmed which designers and sponsors will come together at its Fall/Winter 2009 edition.

Lakmé and IMG Fashion will continue to create opportunities for young and emerging Indian designers. This year 16 will showcase their collections from Mar. 27-31 at the Grand-Hyatt Mumbai, while some of the established Indian designers include Anamika Khanna, Anand Kabra, Lina Tipnis, Rahal Reedy and Troy Costa.

Sponsors such as Levi’s, SkodaAuto, Westide and DHL will be back to support LFW. This Fashion Week, entering its tenth year, also has new sponsors such as Carlsberg, Grey Goose, Marie Claire and Barbie.

Anil Chopra, advisor to Lakmé, emphasized that as “[Lakmé and IMG India] continue to encourage fresh talent to innovate their expertise on the Indian ramp, [they] are also opening newer avenues for the growth of their trade.” Accordingly, buyers will be attending not only from parts of India and the Middle East, but Australia, Canada, Netherlands, Switzerland and South-East Asia as well.
