Greater diversity was a key draw at the Los Angeles International Textile Show at the California Market Center (CMC).

Running from Apr. 14-16, the show saw an expanded seminar schedule, two trend galleries, over 200 exhibitors on the penthouse show floor and a Korean Textile Pavilion presented by KTTA. The final day of the show ended on a high note with a Student Scholarship Awards Ceremony and Trend Presentation by Fashion Group International.

Exhibitors during the LA Textile Show featured companies from around the globe including US, UK, Greece, Italy, France, Turkey, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, China, Africa and Brazil.

Categories represented included fabrics and leathers, creative trim/notions/accessories, print design studios and art services, trend forecasting and color services, embroidery, dyeing and production services, apparel design software and tech solutions, sourcing and manufacturing packages.

The expanded seminar schedule, meanwhile, offered presentations by Peclers Paris, Design Options, Lenzing Fabrics Inc. & Murata Machinery USA Inc., WGSN, Fashion Snoops, Fashion Business Inc. (FBI), Promostyl, Woolworks International, Cotton Inc., About Sources, Fashion Business Inc. and others.

“We were very happy with this LA Int’l Textile Show,” said Joanne Lee, Senior Vice President of CMC Services. “We had an especially great turnout from local and regional designers placing orders. Many of our exhibitors were pleased with the business they wrote and also mentioned they are looking forward to returning for the September/October 2009 Show when we co-locate with Material World and Technology Solutions.”
