“There can’t be any goals for the future without knowing your roots,“ said Peter Eberle from the Management Board of Konen on Monday, when he and his colleague, Dr. Gabriele Godl, presented the results of a deep research regarding the company’s history to the press. In cooperation with the Bavarian archive for economy, Konen compiled a booklet with texts, photos and historical advertising campaigns that document the development of the company between its founding year until the reorganization in the 1950s.
In August 2011, Konen had celebrated the jubilees with its employees as the department store is known for its strong interaction with its employees. Almost 500 people are working at the store in Munich. The store in Luxemburg which is called “Bram” has 280 employees.

Since the restructuring in 2001, Godl and Eberle invested more that €28 million in the modernization of the store, but also in their employees. Godl explains: “Konen, more than ever, sees itself as a fashion house which focuses on clear entrepreneurial values and shows typical characteristics that have grown and developed in the long history.”

Happy birthday, Konen!
