The supervisory board of the Intersport Germany eG announced that Klaus Jost, as of now, is no longer chairman of the Intersport Germany eG. A consensus between Klaus Jost and the supervisory board, concerning the future direction of Intersport couldn’t be achieved.

“We regret the fact that Klaus didn’t accept the confidence that was placed in him to continue his, for Intersport enormously important board department. The fundamental differences of opinion about the realignment of our composite group were ultimately not beyond repair,” said chairman of the supervisory board Knud Hansen. A successor for Jost has not yet been announced.

In early October Intersport had given itself a new organizational structure with three executive units, to meet the current and future challenges of the market for best operation. The newly created department of chairman, with special focus on the membership’s interest, was appointed to Kim Roether. Klaus Jost was supposed to continue the board area of product, marketing and distribution.

Knud Hansen now puts his full trust in Kim Roether: “He has been clearly demonstrating, in recent years at Intersport that he is an experienced manager with vision and a clear strategy for the future of INTERSPORT. Together with the members of the executive management circle of Heilbronn he will continue to bring the daily operations in the coming weeks and ensure a successful start in the 2015 round of orders.”
