Amsterdam’s “blue” universe is ready to welcome denim insiders, experts, aficionados and consumers from 11 to 17 April, 2016. Kingpins Amsterdam will take place at Westergasfabriek from 13 to 14 April and will host over 40 international denim exhibitors including mills, laundries, full package manufacturers and trim providers. They will present novelties for f/w 2017/2018 and upcoming new trends for seasons to come.

Running simultaneously to Kingpins, there will be Why by Kingpins Show, a boutique branding show for the denim industry, hosting accessories and technology manufacturers. The show will take place at the Transformatorhuis, right beside the Kingpins Show.

On 12 April, the day before Kingpins Amsterdam starts, the show’s one-day summit “Kingpins Transformers” will take place at Westergasfabriek, from 9.30 am until 3.30 pm. Title of the event will be: “The good, the bad & the ugly”. This discussion will explore the issue of industrial waste in the denim industry and will feature a panel of speakers focused on sustainable and waste-saving practices within the denim industry. Panelists include Andrew Olah (founder, Kingpins), Robert Antoshak (Olah Inc.), Michael Kininmonth (Lenzing), Miguel Sanchez (archroma), Dr. Sedef Uncu Aki, (BOssa Denim), Omer Ahmed, (Artistic Milliners).

Kingpins Amsterdam will coincide with Amsterdam Denim Days, including a full week of events happening from 11 to 17 April. Open to the general public, the city of Amsterdam’s specialized denim boutiques will host tailored product launches, presentations, exhibitions and special offers aimed at denim addicts. Most events will take place in the Nine Streets and Kalverstraat area of the city.

On 15 and 16 April, the Blueprint event will also celebrate the beauty of the indigo blue toile clothes during a Denim Festival at Westergasfabriek. This two-day happening will gather key brands including K.O.I, Lee, Scotch & Soda, Denham The Jeanmaker and experts like The Vintage Showroom. Also participating will be denim manufacturers Candiani Denim, Cone Denim, Advance Denim and finishing technology company Tonello.

Newborn labels, workshops, live music, artisanal food and drinks will complete the offer of this event open to the public. Entrance tickets for Blueprint can be bought via social networks and web for €10 excluding booking fees, and for €12.50 over the counter.
