The Swedish shoe company Kavat opened its first standalone store in Gothenburg, Sweden. Located at the Korsgatan 3, the 30 square-meters shop is embedded into a historic building and presents the concept of ecological shoes for adults and children. Planned and constructed by the interior architect Olle Ekberg, the shop concept includes natural materials like wood, complemented by leather details.

“We see the Kavat store in Göteborg as a tool for market research and we are happy to present our eco-friendly products in the city of Göteborg. As a former kids shoes company, today we offer a complete range of shoes for the whole family and register an increasing demand for adults’ shoes”, states Magnus Ericsson, Kavat CEO.

Kavat is a family business from the Swedish city Kumla, which is part of the Skofabriken Ymer AB and Italigente AB. Every year, the shoe company produces about 250,000 pairs of shoes in its own factories in Bosnia Herzegovina with 150 employees. In 2013, the sales increased up to 80 Mill. SEK, more than double compared to 2008. Over 60 shoe models are certified with the EU Eco Label, which makes Kavat the internationally leading producer of ecological manufactured shoes. Kavat is sold in 18 countries worldwide.
