Manfred Mandel is the new head of marketing of the Karstadt Warenhaus GmbH. Before Mandel has been CMO international for the Real SB-Warenhaus GmbH. He has also worked as head of marketing for the Rewe Group.

CEO Dr. Stephan Fanderl: „Manfred Mandel will play a key role at Karstadt. Right now we are still in the middle of a tough rescue package. At the same time we are starting with the work, strategies and the concepts for a new Karstadt. Marketing plays an essential role in this development.”

Manfred Mandel: "Department stores are faced with significant challenges. But I think, that it could also be an enormous chance if you focus on the right target group. After the restoration Karstadt has an excellent chance to get back on track. We need a new brand positioning and a clear focus on our regular customers. Our goal is to win back the seven million customers that we have left since 2009.”

Another personnel announcement that came from Karstadt is that Terry von Bibra, chief officer omnichannel, has decided to leave the company on his own request. Von Bibra was in charge of all the omnichannel and online activities, and temporarily marketing.
