KTC Limited, a Hong Kong-based industry leader in performance garment manufacturing, producing premium technical woven and knit apparel in China and Laos for the most well known international outdoor, skiing and workwear brands, is the first independent Performance Wear Manufacturer to become a factory member of the globally recognized Fair Wear Foundation (FWF).

FWF is an independent non-profit organisation that strives to improve labor conditions in garment factories in low wage countries. The European foundation is a multi-stakeholder initiative, which is supported by business associations from the fashion industry, labor unions and various non-governmental organizations.

Erica van Doorn, Director of FWF, welcomes KTC as a new factory member: “We look forward to the cooperation with KTC. It enables FWF to work on improving conditions for workers more directly. KTC and its customers (some already affiliated to FWF) can now join forces and make sure the garments are made in a fair way. I’d like to congratulate KTC with the very positive step to allow for independent verification of labour conditions by FWF”.

Over the last 40 years, KTC has invested in knowledge, technology and craft within the garment industry, and has strived to lead the world in the "art of performance manufacture". Gerhard Flatz, Director of KTC Limited emphasizes that: “At KTC we know that we are only as good as the people who work for us. We will only be the best in the world, if we employ the best talent in the world. It is our people who make us what we are and some of our employees have already been with us for more than 30 years”.
That is why KTC sets a goal to become a member of FWF and fully support FWF's mission to improve labor conditions across the garment industry. By implementing the FWF Code of Labour Practices, that means KTC will continually improve their compliance process, provide fair labor conditions and enhance transparency to the general public.
