American menswear designer John Varvatos has opened his first freestanding store in Europe. Located at 12-13 Conduit Street in the Mayfair section of London, the shop debuted with an elaborate opening party last Wednesday night.

The music-minded designer welcomed special guest Ringo Starr, the face of his fall 2014 campaign, along with legendary musicians such as Paul Weller, Jimmy Page, Iggy Pop, Adam Ant and Paul Cook. In addition, the band The Hives performed a concert on the store’s lower level, which is inspired by Varvatos’ store on The Bowery in New York, the former home of seminal music nightclub CBGB.

The new London store carries the full range of John Varvatos merchandise including the signature collection, John Varvatos Star USA, Converse by John Varvatos, frangrances, eyewear, rock-inspired jewelry and Ernst Benz by John Varvatos limited edition watches. There is also a gallery in partnership with Rock Paper Photo that sells iconic images of jazz and blues performers. In addition, the shop is home to the largest custom Fender Guitar shop in the world.
