On 9 July, during the last edition of Premium trade show in Berlin, Isko and its partners announced the winners of the two Isko I-Skool contests – one for designers and one for marketing professionals. The event aims to foster young talents by offering valuable insights on denim via of expertise and interesting workshops.

During the event Marco Lucietti, global marketing director Sanko/Isko division, explained the I-Skool project while Eva Kruse, CEO at Copenhagen Fashion Summit/Danish Fashion Institute, announced the winners of the contest.

As part of the design awards, Ruhi Tamer Cogal from Istituto Marangoni, Milan was awarded in the “Authentic Mood” category. He reinterpreted workwear with interesting details such as patching and knitted collars. The “Fahion Mood” award was given to named Tanya Dimitrova Kancheva from Chelsea College of Arts who created a trendy jumpsuit design with details such as laser-cut knees and pockets.

The “Future Mood” winner is Sabrina Stadlober from Esmod, Munich, who created multifunctional garments with an interesting sense of fun. The “Recycling Mood” prize was given to Irem Barkan from IMA, Istanbul Moda Academy, who created styles with a strong sense of craftsmanship while employing waste materials..

The “Best Wash” prize was won by Christina Nahler from Esmod Munich. Her style showcased a variety of different techniques such as scraping, painting, repairing and destroying. The Swarovski Award was given to Ilaria Marianna Tomasella, Istituto Marangoni, who made use of different combinations of coloured crystals and embroideries that conveyed a true 3D mood.

Isko’s Special Prize was given to Beth Gillings Pattison and Francisco Sanchez from London College of Fashion, who developed designs by employing different combinations of Isko fabrics.

The “Denim Marketing Award” went to the team led by Roberta Lafosse Magli, Sapienza University, Rome, who worked together with Chiara Manes and Nicoletta Pelliccia. These young talents will be offered internships in some of the partner companies of the I-Skool contest (Archroma, Denim by Première Vision, Lenzing, Nearchimica, Tonello, Premium Exhibitions, Swarovski, Moleskine, Gas, LTB, Made in Heaven, Every Day Counts and the communication agency Menabò Group). They will be protagonists of a fashion show during a special event organised by Isko in Treviso (Italy) today, July 18.

The winning garments were showcased together with the Moleskine notebooks the participants used during these past months to draw and give shape to their ideas through sketches and drafts.
