Sports, sports and more sports was again the theme of the ispo trade fair (, held July 16-18 at the Munich Exhibition Center. A total of 1,015 exhibitors (compared to 915 last summer) from 47 countries presented their latest innovations and s/s 2007 collections to visitors. Approximately 19,000 people from about 100 countries visited the fair, which was about 3,000 fewer than last summer’s ispo, which drew a total of 20,722 people.

While the foreign share of exhibitors was 76%, foreigner visitors again accounted for about 46% of the total number of attendees. In addition to the traditionally strong participation from EU countries and Switzerland, there was growth in number of visitors from Central and Eastern Europe, Russia, Turkey, India, North and South America, the Balkans, China, Japan, Australia and New Zealand.

A highlight of the show was the ispovision Style Night on Monday. Ten awards, including the new category Lifetime Achievement, were presented. The winners were as follows: Deha (Premium Style Fashion), Chiemsee (Premium Style Function), Garmisch (Outdoor Style Fashion), Craft (Outdoor Style Function), Luis Trenker (Golf Style Fashion), Adidas (Golf Style Function), Marinepool (Yachting Style Fashion), Neil Barrett (Lifetime Achievement), Bodytalk (Wellness Style Fashion) and Medico (Wellness Style Function).

Next summer’s ispo will take place on the grounds of the New Munich Trade Fair Centre from Sunday to Tuesday, July 8-10.
