Last week Russian sports fair Ispo Russia was held for the last time under the responsibility of the Messe München GmbH (the company behind the Munich shows Ispo Winter and Ispo Sport & Style). The next show will take place on February 14-16, 2008, with the new name of In_Sports: International Trade Fair of Sports Brands, and under the leadership of the Russian Sports Communication Group Ltd.

At the show just gone, which was held at the Crocus Expo Center Moscow, a total of 233 national and international brands from 21 countries exhibited an extensive product range of the latest developments from the Outdoor, Team Sport, Sportstyle, Boardsports and Running categories.

The show’s overhaul has left its mark on the overall attendance, with the organizers registering 4,004 trade visitors over three days, compared to 8,415 the previous year. Brand exhibitor figures are also down from 284 in 2006 to the aforementioned 233 in 2007.

"Ispo Russia took place for the last time in this form" says Chief Executive Officer of Messe München GmbH, Manfred Wutzlhofer. " As expected, this radical change of the trade fair concept had its effect on the number of visitors. In spite of this, the majority of the exhibitors and trade retailers were very satisfied with the course of the trade fair and the quality of contacts." Messe München GmbH will continue to support the Sport Communication Group, which was the Russian partner of the German tradeshow group over the last years.
