IMG announced today the preliminary lineup of designers for the Spring/Summer 2008 collections at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in LA (mbfashionweek.com/losangeles). The event, which has for this season employed the savvy of Kelly Cutrone to take the helm, will take place at Smashbox Studios in Culver City October 14 to 18, 2007.

The event will include collections by Sue Wong, Petro Zillia, Chick by Nicky Hilton, Yves Castaldi, Heatherette, Elsie Katz Couture, Joseph Domingo, Jenny Han, Christian Audigier, Grey Ant, Whitley Kros, Voom by Joy Han, The Gallery, Evidence of Evolution, Monarchy Collection, Samora, Oligo Tissew, Bird of Prey, Jeremy Scott, Coco Johnson, Tart and JC Obando.

As announced earlier this year, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at Smashbox Studios will highlight eco-friendly initiatives, and have partnered with The CarbonNeutral Company to measure and reduce the carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions of the event, the inevitable remainder will then be offset. Designers and sponsors will also be encouraged to do their part to pitch in to think and act in way that respects the environment.

"We are proud that Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at Smashbox Studios is among the first in the fashion industry to make a commitment to the environment,” said Smashbox Studios co-founder Davis Factor. “The opportunity to share this message and actively involve other members of the fashion community will make a real difference in the long-term success of a green fashion event.”
