German sports company Uvex has named Helge Gützlaff as their new Director of Strategic Business for bike and winter sports as well as Martin Schamböck as the new Director of Marketing. Both industry experts will join the team on September 1 and are yet another step in expediting the company’s strategic realignment.
 
Gützlaff will account for the company’s global budget and will take responsibility for the continuous repositioning of the firm’s strategic business area of bike and winter sports. Furthermore, he will oversee the marketing and price strategy as well as product development. The 43-year-old previously served as Atomic’s product and sales manager and most recently as the sales director at bike manufacturer Cervélo. Gützlaff is also a former ski racer, which adds to his vast knowledge in the area.
 
Martin Schamböck will take over marketing practices for Uvex, including the sports marketing budget, brand management, retail marketing and the development of the brand’s identity. Schamböck was also employed at Atomic and Sunnto as Global Marketing Manager.
