Denim industry veteran Eric Wical has joined Howe Denim (www.howedenim.com) as general manager and business director of product development, a newly created role. Wical will oversee Howe’s operations, sales and product development divisions, with the goal of growing sales and expanding Howe’s current domestic and overseas retail programs. Wical has over 25 years’ experience with retail and wholesale brands such as Merry-Go-Round, Abercrombie & Fitch, Calvin Klein, Club Monaco, Nike and Paige Denim. As senior merchandiser for Abercrombie & Fitch in the mid '90s, Wical relaunched the company’s men’s denim and casual bottom business. He later achieved revenue increases as vice president of product development at Calvin Klein Jeans and in 2001 as business director of Nike US Apparel. Prior to joining Howe, Wical helped guide Paige Denim to over $6 million in sales at its industry trade show launch. Howe Denim is currently sold in better specialty boutiques and department stores in the US, Europe, Canada and Japan.
