Thirty years young and still looking great - that is Sportswear International. On the evening of Thursday July 21 the trade magazine celebrated its 30th anniversary together with good friends, longstanding partners and the biggest stars of the casual fashion business. The celebration took place at the VIP Lounge at the Olympia Stadium in Berlin's Spandau district. The site was the perfect place to party, dance and sip Champagne - and was an ideal, impressive setting for the 1st Global Jeans Summit and the inaugural public presentation of the SIFAs (Sportswear International Fashion Awards).

The topic of the jeans summit was "Premium Jeans Forever?" After Thomas Ahmann, market analyst at Bossa Denim, opened the summit with a keynote address about the present and future state of denim and jeanswear, the world's biggest denim players, owners of red-hot new denim brands and cutting-edge retailers and buyers discussed premium denim on the huge stage in a talk show-like format. The guests included Francois Girbaud (Marithé and Francois Girbaud), Adriano Goldschmied (Gold Sign), Jos van Tilburg (G-Star), Andrea Rosso (55 DSL), Andrea Bernholtz (Rock & Republic), Evelyn Hammerström (Jades store, Düsseldorf), Nathan Bogle (Rag & Bone), Heiner Sefranek (Mustang Jeans), Nick Condilis (Nobody) and Richard Cadet (Famous Friends store, NYC).

Following their discussion another highlight began: the official SIFA ceremony. The winners in 14 different categories were announced and accepted their prizes in a fun and informal ceremony that included several pricelessly entertaining acceptance speeches that left the audience laughing and cheering. "Although the Sportswear International Fashion Awards have been in existence since 2001, this is the first time they are presented in public", said Klaus Hang, editor and publisher of Sportswear International, as he proudly began the ceremony.

The award winners were as follows:
Modern Amusement (Best Men's Fashion-Driven Collection)
Ina Seifart (Best Accessories)

Adidas by Stella McCartney (Best Women's Sports Style)
