After opening two Galeria Melissa flagship stores in New York and in São Paulo, Brazilian footwear brand Melissa has opened its concept store in London.

Galeria Melissa London is located in Covent Garden, inside an historical building which previously was the home of an aristocratic family, a hotel and a luxury club. Today the location maintains its historical characteristics juxtaposed with the modern design of Melissa plastic shoes.

Muti Randolph, a multimedia artist from Rio de Janeiro, already responsible for the Melissa Gallery in São Paulo, signed the creative project of Melissa’s first European store. The two-floor flagship is the biggest of the three existing ones and measures almost 400 sq. meters. It mixes a clean interior design with the authentic Georgian architecture outside.

At the entrance, visitors can see a great sculpture made of several acrylic boxes that can move to the rhythm of music, thanks to a special technology.

A big white box inside the store is devised to host special events for fashion, art and culture and vernissages. In contrast to this clean cube, a light sculpture, produced exclusively by artist Muti Randolph for the London Gallery, enlightens and enriches the space.
