The Metro Group, holding company of department stores chain Galeria Kaufhof, has designated 38-year-old Olivier Van den Bossche chief operations officer (COO) at Galeria Kaufhof from October onwards. Lovro Mandac (64), his predecessor, continues being chief executive officer (CEO) of the Galeria Holding GmbH and additionally takes over the role of supervisory board chairman at Galerie Kaufhof GmbH as of now.
Van den Bossche previously headed the Belgian Kaufhof subsidiary Galeria INNO.

Galeria Holding GmbH encompasses the retail business and the real-estate activities of Galeria Kaufhof. After the recent changes, the management board now consists of Lovro Mandac (CEO), Dr. Henning Klöppelt (Chief Real Estate Officer) and Thomas Fett (Chief Financial Officer).

There have been further staff changes at Galeria Kaufhof. Edo Beukema has been appointed head of purchasing at Galeria Kaufhof GmbH. His predecessor, Thomas Storck, takes over the newly created position of chief solution officer and CIO at online business Metro Cash & Carry.
Additionally, head of human resources Ulrich Köster abandons the Galeria Kaufhof management board as of January 2015 to take care of new functions within the Metro Group. Volker Schlinge, previously head of marketing at Galeria Kaufhof GmbH, will succeed Mr. Köster.
Rami Al Assouad, head of purchasing and marketing at Galeria INNO, has been appointed spokesman of the management board at the Belgian department stores chain.
