Gunther Sommer, who has been in charge of German brand H.I.S. Jeans for the last 13 years, will leave the company at the end of this year.

Sommer, 52, the country and brand director for H.I.S., says the departure comes at his own request. "I really love this job but it’s time to look for a new challenge in the fashion business," he said.

In addition to his role as country and brand director, Sommer has also recently worked in the management team of VF Germany Textil-Handels GmbH, which owns H.I.S.

Dieter Jacobfeuerborn, regional managing director of VF Europe, said VF is currently looking for Sommer’s successor. "We haven’t found someone yet but I hope to present the new country director in January," he said.
