Following in the footsteps of Hollywood A-listers such as George Clooney, Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt, Guess has found it très chic to settle down in Como, Italy. Subsequently, on Mar. 7, the denim maker opened a 95-sq.-meter (1,023-sq.-foot) store in a 14th-century mansion not far from the historic center of Como. While the interior is made of steel, glass and wood to reflect the philosophy of the brand, the highlight of the shop is a silver resin floor in the middle of the sales area. Meanwhile, its walls feature the photographer Yu Tsai’s work for the latest Guess S/S 2009 pin-up-like campaign. The store also has three huge shop windows, allowing plenty of daylight to illuminate the brand assortment that includes Guess Jeans, Guess Sexy, Guess by Marciano, Guess and GC Swiss made watches, as well as handbags and footwear. The opening is on par with the company’s current expansion across Europe and into cities such as Helsinki, Andorra, Kirchberg and Baie Mahault (Guadeloupe). Via Vittorio Emanuele, 38, 22100 Como, +39 (0) 31 30 1 97.
