DC Shoes (www.dcshoecousa.com) and Arkitip Magazine will celebrate the work of international graffiti artist André in the skateboarding brand’s fourth Artist Project exhibit. The show will take place on July 7 at Black Block, located at the Palais de Tokyo Museum in Paris, and feature some 250 pairs of shoes hand-painted by the Suede native who is best known for his trademark character Mr. A. The footwear, complete with a matching hipsack, will be available for sale at Black Block and online at arkitip.com. “This is a way to bring something new to the industry by collaborating with friends to create exciting and unique products,” says Damon Way, Executive Vice President of DC Shoes. “Also, most of these artists have been involved with the culture and/or business of skateboarding for many years, so for most of them it is equally exciting to have their art and name embellished on a product that represents the sport.” Previous influential street artists and designers featured in the Artist Project series include Shepard Fairey, Kaws, Dave Kinsey, Eric So, Phil Frost, Thomas Campbell, Arkitip/Evan Hecox, Andy Howell and Michael Leon.
