For their Fall/Winter ’14 capsule collection, available in stores and online since September 2014, London based sports- and streetwear brand Fred Perry decided to team up with British fashion designer Bella Freud and bring the Bella Freud Blank Canvas collection onto the market.

The result is a collection inspired by archive Fred Perry imagery and the effect of 1960’s Jamaican dancehall and ska on London streetstyle. While keeping the tough Fred Perry look Bella Freud interprets the heritage of the brand in a playful way with an extra touch of sparkle that makes the pieces “a-girl’s-favorite garment”.

The collection features lurex tipping adorning shirts and gold embroidered stars that reflect military influences often adopted in the clothes of Jamaican Reggae artists. Next to long sleeve shirts, the collection contains signature Fred Perry collar T-shirts, boxy sweatshirts and cardigans adorned with a white stripe pattern – a take on the archetypal Fred Perry twin tipping.
