Throughout several month of cooperation, fashion company Esprit and Greenpeace have developed a program that aims to reduce the release of hazardous chemicals in textile and clothing production.
The initiative complements Esprit’s recently announced joining of Roadmap to Zero, a program committed to completely stopping the discharge of hazardous chemicals in textile- and clothing production by 2020.
Charles Dickinson, Senior Vice President and manager of worldwide quality management and sustainability comments “Our partnership with Greenpeace supports Esprit’s negotiated agreement to reduce to zero the supply of hazardous chemicals in our production. This is an important step for the whole fashion industry.”
