International fashion brand Esprit announced that they will take part in a strategic partnership with Canadian distributor Freemark Apparel Brands (FAB Inc.) to re-enter the Canadian market. The brand, founded in San Francisco, ended its U.S. and Canadian operations in 2011 in order to concentrate on their businesses in Europe and Asia.

Now Esprit returns to the Canadian market and, as part of the multi-channel distribution strategy, will open the doors to its first stand-alone stores in Canada as early as spring 2016. The exact locations have yet to be announced.

“With the North American continent being the birthplace of our brand, we are convinced that we can revive the Canadian consumer’s strong relationship with Esprit as it has been missed in the market place for several years,” comments Dieter Messner, General Manager Esprit Europe, America and Middle East.
