Emu Australia, the footwear brand that is mostly known for its sheepskin boots, is expanding its offer for 2016 by introducing its largest waterproof collection so far.

The collection offers a wide range of new styles including flat ankle boots and slippers. The styles had been optimized by consumer reviews in the UK and US. A special feature of this collection is the advanced water resistance of the products which have been accredited for up to 150.000 flexes and a thermal rating of 22F (-30c) by SATRA, an independent research and testing organization.

But not only the technical features have been improved, also the fashionable elements have been enhanced and make the collection seem to be a good fit for both fashion and outdoor retailers. And the concept seems to be working: EMU reported that their spring 2016 order results are the best spring results they ever had.

The person behind the collection is Emu’s new International Product Manager Samantha Meredith who joined the company in May 2015 and ignited the project. She formerly worked as a Design Manager at Mimco, an Australia-based accessory retailer.

In connection with the launch of the 2016 global collection, the Australian brand also announced its partnership with WaterAid. Emu Australia has recently made a financial contribution to the charity that supports a worldwide improved access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene.
