Eastpak has opened its first monobrand store in Milan, in Galleria Passarella 2, at the corner of Corso Europa, in the very heart of Milan’s city shopping centre.

The new store communicates with another newly opened Vans shop also belonging to VF Group. The two stores occupy two levels and a total of 300 sq. meters and set the first step for other similar store openings in collaboration with A.R.P (Advanced Retail Partner), Italian specialized retail company. “Similar concept store projects will be replicated again. They are the result of a joint collaboration we carried ahead with VF Group in terms of concept, design and layout for this opening,” explains Lorenzo Bassetti, managing director, ARP. “When we found this space it would have been too large for hosting a brand only. For this, together with VF Group, we found a solution that could match with the group’s needs and at the same time harmonize with this area of Milan hosting other transversal upmarket brands such as, for instance, Trussardi, Illyshop and The North Face, just to name a few ones.”

Following a similar format will be a new 400 sq. meters store that will host Vans and The North Face and will open next week in one of Rome’s major shopping malls - Roma Est. Another Eastpak store will also open inside Stazione Termini Forum, Rome’s major railway station shopping mall. “This other store will be smaller since it will measure 56 sq. meters, though perfect for a location with one of the highest footfall of Europe – 200 million per year.” Other openings are expected in other key travel locations, such as, for instance, inside airports.

ARP is a specialized retail company also involved in other retail operations such as the recent inaugurations of G-Star in Milan (also see our reportage), Rome and Florence, soon to be followed by Venice and Madrid by end 2014, and Barcelona beginning of 2015.

ARP has been involved in the opening of various Illyshop and Ferrari Stores in Italy and abroad. They also design and produce their own transversal sportswear total look brand Mountain Affair. Each of the recently opened Eastpak stores – like this newly inaugurated one in Milan - will also host a small percentage of Mountain Affair products.
