The seven winners of this year’s Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation Awards were announced yesterday here in New York. They include Cushnie et Ochs, Lyn Devon, Matthew Ames and Ohne Titel for womenswear; Sportswear favorite Corpus for menswear; Monique Péan for accessories; and Bodkin Brooklyn in a new category for sustainable design. Each winner received a $25,000 grant to help showcase their collections during New York Fashion Week next month. “We recognize the difficulties emerging designers face in bringing their visions to life, especially in this tough economic climate,” said Patrick Coyle, Marketing Director for Ecco Domani Wines. “We hope that the support of the Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation will give these designers the opportunity to bring a whole new level of talent and excitement to the fashion community.” Ecco Domani Wines formed the Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation in 2001. Since then, the organization has been instrumental in launching some of the world’s most influential ready-to-wear brands, including Proenza Schouler, Thakoon, Erin Fetherston, Alexander Wang, Rag & Bone and Rodarte.
