Desert Studio, denim garment manufacturer in Dubai, (UAE), has recently inaugurated its Hydro-Less Laundry, a new facility through which garments are practically washed without employing any water.

Being based in the outskirts of Dubai, in areas near to where the desert starts, this new facility represents a significant result since it can actually cut 95% of its water consumption when compared with regular laundries.

They can achieve authentic ageing effects on 13 oz selvedge jeans (see pictures) thanks to a series of state-o-the-art innovative treating techniques such as, for instance, Jeanologia’s Nano Bubbles treating machines, Desert Blasting, a technique through which they throw microfragments on garments at very high speed that are recollected and re-used. This laundry also employs ozone treatments and similar environmentally friendly treating techniques.

Desert Studio is a garment manufacturer founded in 2013 in Dubai. The company produces garments for top-end denim brands, mostly from the US and the European markets. It employs 900 people and has a monthly productive capacity of about 250,000 pieces. The company is especially flexible and able to develop new and exclusive treatments in fast times and upon each single brand requests.

Desert Studio is part of the Machiyara Group, a huge Pakistani holding acting in various fields, including real estate field, tourism and various others. It started operating in the textile business in 1990. Their Machiyara Group are fully vertical. In fact they own and grow cotton plantations, produce yarns and denim fabrics for the Hantex company to be employed for their own garment manufacturing company DCC that serves various brands and retailers globally. As a yearly turnover the Pakistani textile division registers employs a total of 15,000 people. Its monthly productive capacity is 2.4 million meters of fabric and 2.5 million garments.
