Diesel (diesel.com) opened the doors to its flagship store at 20 Queen's Road Central in Hong Kong this week, a space inspired by the city's bustling mix of contrasts: East-meets-West, modern and traditional, luxury and casual, new and old, ying and yang.

The 1000-square-metre three-storey location offers the full Diesel brand experience and features cool and warm elements, as well as vintage inspirations and modern design aesthetics. Highlights include a luminous copper entrance façade placed against mesh-lined black glass, industrial-style concrete walls accented with antique wood panels and shelves, white geometric 3-D tiled walls and black crackled slate floors, herringbone-patterned wood floors next to carpeted dressing rooms, and vintage chandeliers dotted amongst high-tech modern lighting.

The new Diesel flagship will also launch the Diesel Black Gold contemporary fashion collection, with an early preview of the Fall/Winter 2008 line. The upper floor bares a Diesel Denim Library - an entire wall dedicated to the full range of the brand's 5-pocket denim - that will feature amongst the Diesel Men's and Women's Spring/Summer 2008 collections. The store's merchandising mix includes Diesel footwear, bags, timeframes, jewellery, fragrances and eyewear.

This launch follows the Diesel Ginza flagship opening in Tokyo in April 2008, with two more global flagship unveilings still to come: in Milan (San Babila) and New York (Fifth Avenue).
