Spanish lifestyle brand Desigual continues to position itself as a global company, with Germany targeted as the market with the greatest potential after France. The company, which earlier this year opened its first German store in Berlin, also the biggest in Europe, could be adding 10 more stores next year. Through the end of this year Desigual is aiming to have 650 sales points in Germany. The business objective for 2010 is penetration of the German market with 1,000 sales points and, in particular, an expansion via shop-in-shop systems. Desigual has 138 stores, 475 shop-in-shops and corners in department stores. Despite the global economic downturn, Desigual expects a turnover of more than €275 million, or a 70% increase, over 2008.
