There’s still time to catch La Rinascente’s traveling jeans bar, on tour from Mar. 14-29. Dedicated to the neverending hype of denim, various brands are displaying all different shapes, styles and washes in denim as part of the well-known department store’s “Denim Mania” campaign. After stopping in Rome and Cagliari, the jeans bar opened in Milan on Mar. 20, with several events to commemorate the launch, such as Levi’s hosting a live show by artist Carlo Spreafico, who customizes Levi’s “unbuttoned” 501 style by painting and dyeing jeans in the colors of the S/S 2009 collection. The jeans are then sold in a special metal packaging. Also contributing to the event is Gas, with its GAS4DOVIZIOSO special edition, designed by MotoGP champion Andrea Dovizioso. Accordingly, Rinascente’s shop windows have been decorated with NFY, Levi’s 501 Jeans “Boy Meets Girl” campaign and Diesel’s S/S 2009 collection.
