Exports of Danish apparel grew 9% year-on-year in the first five months of 2003 according to the Federation of Danish Textile and Clothing Companies. Full-year growth is expected to be half that amount.
The Herning, Denmark-based fashion trade organization reported that Danish apparel sales to Germany rose 14% and sales to Sweden were up 16% in the period from January to May.
Other countries increasing their orders from Denmark in that period include The Netherlands, Finland, Spain and the United Kingdom.
