Compagnia del Denim, the denim-focused company founded by Alessandro Marchesi in 1991, in Serra De' Conti, near Ancona, has recently opened its first monobrand store in Paris, in rue Etienne Marcel 36. The space was previously occupied by Pinko, pret-à-porter brand part of Cris Conf, a group owned by entrepreneur Pietro Negra, who bought Compagnia del Denim in 2008. Since rue Etienne Marcel is a street mostly hosting denim brands, the location seemed best for hosting the jeans brands Memory's and 2W2M produced by Compagnia del Denim.

“Between denim and vintage the taste is cool here. We could not find a better place,” commented Alessandro Marchesi, CEO and Sales Manager, Compagnia del Denim. “We are next door to brands such as Replay, Diesel and Kiliwatch. It is the right location for us. Our idea is to expand and develop a true lifestyle concept by also opening bed & breakfast.”

The company’s yearly turnover lies between €6 million and €7 million per year. Compagnia del Denim has always worked and produced jeans and denim garments for important brands such as Dolce & Gabbana and Edwin, and also developed a series of denim collections for Italian brands such as Liu Jo and Patrizia Pepe. After it was bought by Cris Conf it is no longer producing for other brands and only concentrates on its own brands and the Pinko denim collection. Throughout the years it has maintained its own creative laboratory spirit, focusing on research and innovation, mostly concentrating on washes and fits.
