New areas and show-in-show concepts are some of the focal points of China’s biggest fashion trade show Chic, hosted again at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai from March 16 to 18, and happening concurrently with fabrics and textiles fair Intertextile.

A clear highlight of this edition is the kick-off of Global Overview Footwear and Leather (GOFL), the first sector at Chic dedicated to shoes and leather goods, organized in partnership with Kaishi Exhibition. Intelligent manufacturing enterprises will gather at the Smart Textiles sector, providing solutions around technological production methods.

In terms of show-in-show concepts, London based tradeshow Pure will be present on 300sqm for the first time at Chic. Besides, the Netherlands will run a pavilion introducing Dutch brands to the fair’s audience.
Chic will accommodate again the following fashion areas: Prestige (menswear), New Look (womenswear), Impulses (innovative designers), Heritage (leather and fur, downwear), Secret Stars (accessories), Kid’s Paradise (childrenswear), Urban View (casualwear) and Denim World (jeanswear). All in all, 1,200 exhibitors from 20 nations will reunite on a total space of 100,000sqm to provide an overview on the fashion business. Online appears to be the up-and-coming juicy opportunity: according to the show, China’s consumer market presents more than 668 million internet users and 594 million mobile users.
