Amsterdam denim brand Kings of Indigo goes full on sustainable and launches the Veggie Denim capsule collection, an edition of jeans that is 100% vegan and sustainable.

With this capsule, Kings of Indigo want to show just how important the topic of sustainability is to them. At Turkish denim fabricant Orta Anadolu, the label discovered the veggie denim fabric, an organic denim that is solely dyed plant-based. Walnut shells create brown hues while indigo pants create a deep blue. Before, it wasn’t possible to use plant dyes in an industrial production, so that they would obtain an adequate result compared to synthetic dyes.

Furthermore, veggie denim is free from synthetic chemicals, saves 70 liters of water per kilogram of fabric, uses 30% less energy for the production and all materials are GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified. The cotton that is used exclusively consists of pure organic cotton or recycled cotton fibers.

The capsule collection, launching this fall, features two models for women and three for men, all coming in different washes.
