Danish womenswear brand By Malene Birger has hired two new members of staff on management level and also announced the opening of their first Hong Kong store.

Victoria Archer will be filling the newly created position of marketing manager starting September 1. Archer is currently based in London and has gained marketing experience at Vivienne Westwood and most recently at Sotheby’s. She will be managing all B2B and B2C marketing activities and further implement the growing marketing structure at By Malene Birger.

Additionally, Deepa Tarachand Hingorani has been hired as new head of production, effective September 15. Hingorani is currently based in Amsterdam and has previously held positions at Hugo Boss, Esprit and most recently worked as head of development and production at Karl Lagerfeld. Hingorani suceeds Jesper Skou.

Moreover, only a few months after opening a store in Tokyo, By Malene Birger will open its first boutique in Hong Kong by the end of September. The 40 sqm store, located within the Lee Gardens in the heart of Causeway Bay, will be run together with local partner Vein. Melinda Wong, founder and director of Vein: "The September opening of the By Malene Birger store in Hong Kong marks the first launch of a renowned modern contemporary Danish women’s designer brand in town, it will certainly bring a new source of fashion inspiration to our international customers here."
