Fenty by Rihanna, Club Monaco, Ivyrevel, Kate Spade… These are some of the high-profile brands that Zalando signed for the first half of 2016 and which have probably contributed to the retailer’s strong performance so far in 2016. The exclusive sale of Beyoncé's Ivy Park brand was another milestone for the e-commerce behemoth, who has registered an adjusted group Earnings Before Interest and Taxes (EBIT) of €101.2 million, in comparison to the €59.2 million scored in the first half of 2015. In addition, Zalando’s positive free cash flow represents €50 million.

In tune with the results, the retailer increases its full-year adjusted EBIT margin guidance to 4.0-5.5%. Hopes of continued momentum are driven by upcoming events such as the first Bread&Butter by Zalando in September; the launch of Tommy Hilfiger’s collection with Gigi Hadid; and a footwear collaboration with Italian luxury label Marni.

Meanwhile, Zalando continues to extend its fulfillment capacities in various markets. The construction of the logistics hub in Lahr (Germany) is in the pipeline and test operations have already started. Besides, the company’s first international satellite warehouse in Stradella (Italy), which started operations in early 2016, already fulfills 60% of Italian orders.
