After two years of development, South-Korean outdoor-specialist Black Yak presents its first collection specifically designed for the European market. Consisting of 49 pieces, the collection 16/17 was produced in Europe by a product-development team from Switzerland and a design team, in collaboration with extreme mountaineers to develop new solutions when it comes to material, construction and look.

Black Yak's collection is suited for mountaineers who climb 8,000 meter peaks and also features products for every-day life, skiing tours and hikes. Active flex pants for women and men feature Kevlar fabric at the ends to protect from ski edges and climbing irons. For their Emergency Jackets, Black Yak works closely together with Dyneema, who produce fibers that are 15 times stronger than steal. Moreover, the Black Yak collection offers a range of fitted combat shirts for men and women, which can be worn under Blackyak’s down jackets that are filled with water-resistant goose downs to guarantee ideal thermal insulation. Tailored cuts and additional hoods on Blackyak’s jackets also ensure that the wearer is protected from snow, wind or rain while maintaining a great mobility.

Regarding the color range, the collection 16/17 over all features neutral and toned down colors. Next to a completely black line, the garments come in the colors gold, silver metallic, chocolate and Indian teal, a kind of softer petrol color.

Black Yak will firstly present their collection to industry professionals at the ISPO Munich (24-27 January, 2016).
