For the April 2015 edition of Kingpins Amsterdam, Italian specialized denim manufacturer Berto has presented a new collaboration with Kjøre Project, a newborn footwear brand by Cornelius Design, a top-quality footwear company from Verona, Italy.

Cornelius Design has more than 50 years of experience in producing Made in Italy quality shoes and Berto is an expert denim manufacturer founded in 1887, who since then only produced fabrics and denim in Italy. The new project clearly reflects both specialists’ own DNA and maniac-like care for quality and tradition.

The line is inspired by Scandinavian fair as its name means “to lead” in Norwegian. It offers a selection of shoes and bags that are all handcrafted and characterized by unique handmade details, employing New Zealand leathers and exclusive Berto Blue Selvedge denims only.

All fabrics employed are woven on 1950s authentic Picanol weaving machines purposely restored and reactivated by expert craftspeople, using traditional manufacturing techniques.

The denims employed are 13.9 oz. Heavier 44 and Heavier Black Weft for shoes and a much thicker 25oz. Square Plot for heavy bags and backpacks.

The Berto x Kjøre Project capsule of shoes and bags will debut for the June 2015 edition of Pitti Uomo.
