The countdown is on for next week's fashion trade shows in Berlin. This summer things will be different again; Bread & Butter running its last edition as trade show, Panorama and Show & Order will start July, 7, while Bright, Premium, Seek and the other shows will start on Wednesday, one day later than usual. Additional, two new shows are set to debut: Selvedge Run and Shitfood Mongoland. Further, Bright will move to Arena, becoming a direct neighbor of the Seek trade show. The next week promises to be exciting and surprising. Read about all show details here:
A must for the high fashion sector is Berlin’s Mode Salon. After 18 designers have participated in January, there will be more than 30 designers presenting their collections this time – Dorothee Schumacher, Allude, Iris von Arnim, Felder Felder, Hien Le, Lala Berlin, Malaikaraiss are some of them. Another novelty: accessories and jewelry labels like Mykita, Golpira and PB0110 will show their key-pieces at Berliner Mode Salon. Besides the designer’s exhibition on Friday afternoon, there will be defiles, installations, a retrospective regarding designer Dietrich Emter, who died last year, a fashion conference about the fusion of fashion and technology, and the Vogue Salon, presenting newcomers in design.

Bread & Butter
There is no fair in our business which has had higher (and wilder bespoken) ups and downs than Berlin’s Bread & Butter. It is so interesting how the fairground in Tempelhof will look like for the upcoming edition after it was cancelled in January 2014. The brand list has been published already, many new names – especially from the kidswear sector – have appeared. The latter take part of the kidswear event Cookies, which is held under the roof of Bread & Butter. About 90 brands will be part of the “B&B tradeshow for selected brands”, such as Cinque, Mavi, John Smedley, Lonsdale and Japan Blue Jeans.

As it has been known from the makers of Bright in the past, there will be a lot of side events accompanying the trade show, including an opening party on 8th July and a closing barbeque on 10th July.

Greenshowroom/Ethical Fashion Show
The Berlin-eco-tradeshows Greenshowroom and Ethical Fashion Show are already booked completely. Due to international brands like Lanius, Bleed, Good Society, Greenbomb and PeopleTree, which booked bigger areas, both shows have grown in comparison to the previous year. New additions to the eco-segment are labels like Armedangels and El Naturalista. Highlights of the Greenshowroom are Cocccon, Deepmello, Johanna Riplinger, Linda Mai Phung, Nine to five and Studio Elsien Gringhuis.
The summer edition’s fringe program is enormous. Some highlights: selected high-fashion labels of the Greenshowroom will present around 70 looks at the Salonshow at the club of Postbahnhof (July 9th, 4pm, by invitation only). Besides, a new show called ‘Ethical Fashion on Stage’ will have its debut at the Ethical Fashion Show and will present around 50 looks of street and casualwear (July 9th, 6pm). In addition to the catwalk shows, panels and talks, the ‘Create Green Breakfasts’ on July 10th will address the subject of vegan fashion. Starting at 11am, Marion Kracht (Marion Kracht for Lana), Julia Akra-Laurien (Noveaux magazine), Holger Brodkorb (Ragwear), Hendrik Haase (food activist and blogger) and presenter Stefanie Hütz (journalist) will talk about fashion without using animal products.
For the upcoming summer edition, trade visitors and press people of both shows get the opportunity of free access to Premium, Seek, Bright and Show & Order. Moreover, Mercedes-Benz will offer a shuttle-service to get from Postbahnhof to other hotspots of Berlin’s fashion week.

Brands without any heritage or strong affinity to craftsmanship have no chance to show their collections on Berlin’s menswear fair Selvedge Run. Each of the selected exhibitors has their own story to tell. “The main topic of what we are doing is craft.
We try to be a showroom, a platform for brands that are ‘anti-Primark’: brands that don’t define themselves as fashion and are against the throw-away culture of mass consumption”, says Selvedge Run-owner and CEO Andreas Becker. About 50 menswear, shoes and accessories labels such as Iron Heart, Nudie, Edwin, Livid Jeans and Pure Blue Japan will show their collections on about 2,400 square meters in the new location Reinbeckhallen close to the Spree bank. There will be a party on 8th July and a “farewell exhibitor lunch” after the end of the fair on 10th July.
