Stitch, the British menswear and accessories trade show, kicked off the summer 2011 buying season in London last week. Website registrations were up 500% compared with the previous show, with a total of just over 2,000 new registrations for S/S 2011.

The season attracted a range of international buyers from the Japanese department store Beams, Prime Corporation and Frontline, Ibiza, to independent and multibrand British retailers including Fenwicks, Urban Outfitters, Selfridges, House of Fraser, Harvey Nichols, Debenhams, ASOS, JD Sports Fashion Plc, as well as Cruise, Choice, Diverse, Therapy, Question-Air and Trapeze Clothing.

“Stitch proved to be an excellent show for us —professionally staged in a beautiful location, great brands and products, and an extremely high caliber of buyer. We had a very successful and enjoyable show,” said Dean West of Pretty Green.

With a stronger than ever attendance by UK and international buyers, Stitch founder and managing director Brian Duffy also was thrilled with the show’s growing popularity: “We are delighted with the results from our second show and have had some great feedback from our exhibitors. Many brands have re-signed for next season including Slazenger Heritage and Two Stoned, and we are very much looking forward to developing the show, building on the positive vibe and success of our past two shows.”
