Following the surprising announcement that Esprit Brand President Thomas Grote, who was expected to succeed current Chairman and Group CEO Heinz Krogner, will leave the company in June, the company has confirmed several new appointments. On Jun. 1, Jan Erik van Dijk will join Esprit as Global Marketing Director. His main focus will be the corporate identity and brand positioning of Esprit as “an international youthful lifestyle company.” Van Dijk is expected to coordinate and strengthen the brand and company message internally and externally. Prior to joining Esprit, he gained extensive experience in the marketing department at C&A and was leading the repositioning process of that company. He will report directly to the CEO. Esprit also has a new President for the Americas region. Effective May 4, John Gunn will be responsible for North and South America. Previously, he was responsible for the retail business of Tommy Hilfiger in North Amerika and a GM for IC Companies.
