Yesterday Ben Sherman Group ( announced the acquisition of Rodeo International Limited, owner of the Nickelson brand (, a mid-sector men’s lifestyle label from the UK. Future plans include expanding Nickelson’s product categories into footwear and denim and licensed products including accessories, together with growing the Nickelson woven shirt offering.

The new owner also wants to increase marketing investment and distribution in sales areas not previously covered by Nickelson, notably Northern Ireland and The Republic of Ireland.

We believe there are many synergies across the two brands, notably in areas of sourcing and geographic sales distribution. Whilst we are committed to preserving Nickelson’s brand identity, we intend to invest in the development of the brand, an instrumental factor in building its success.”

Ben Sherman brand was found in 1963 and started with T-shirts. The company now offers menswear, womenswear, footwear, kidswear and youth apparel, and accessories. Recently, Ben Sherman was acquired by US based Oxford Industries, producers and marketers of branded and private label apparel for men, women and children. The brand is sold in more than 30 countries worldwide.
