In a very British union Ben Sherman ( has taken on the creative muscle of PPQ ( to create a capsule women’s wear collection for the Spring/Summer season. The hip London label, known for its cutesy-cool dresses, bought its own music-infused design aesthetic to the Ben Sherman brand, resulting in five fine dresses. Each dress represents a decade past, beginning with the 1960’s from whence the classic British brand was born back in 1963.

The 60s design takes it’s lead from the Mod: a shift with buttoned down features; the 70s is Rock, a vibrant paisley-print shirt dress inspired by Jimi Hendrix; the 80s is all about Ska and 2-tone, a short-sleeved check shirt paired with a fine-wool houndstooth high-waisted skirt; the 90s is of course a homage to Britpop, a tartan pinafore dress that is both classy and quirky and typically Brit; finally, the 00s, a simple style statement that is Indie meets gothic with a high neck, long cuffs, bib-frills and lace.

Only 175 of each design from the Decades of Dresses collection has been made, available to buy from today on the Ben Sherman website.
