Bread & Butter Barcelona, which ran July 4 to 6, registered more than 91,000 guests, about 8,000 more than the January 2007 edition. More than 1,000 exhibitors showed their collections at the show. The majority of visitors again came from Spain and Portugal (37%), followed by Italy (16%) and Germany (10%).

Karl-Heinz Muller, managing director of Bread & Butter Barcelona, announced plans for the upcoming edition that will run January 16 to 18, 2008. Those plans include increasing the existing exhibition space and to use the complete area of the Fira de Barcelona. About 15,000 sq. meters will be used for the new segment B&b Sourcing that provides space for approximately 100 textile, yarn, accessories and finishing companies. He also wants to gain space to show more sportswear brands and to enlarge the Bread & Butter design area.

“We don't want to grow for the sake of growing,” he said. “We are growing upwards, taking care of the quality.”
