Sunshine welcomed the visitors of third edition of Bread and Butter Barcelona, which ran July 5-7 at Fira de Barcelona. At a on-site press conference, organizer Karl-Heinz Müller said the show attracted more than 20,000 international trade visitors on its first day alone.

In total, the show registered 53,774 visitors from 95 nations, which is about 8,000 more than last summer’s edition and about 5,000 more than the January 2006 edition. Müller said, “We expect more visitors compared to January, but the real figures exceed all our expectations. We are really satisfied.“

The majority of visitors came from Southern Europe. Spanish and Portuguese visitors accounted for about 33.81% of all the attendees while 18.42% were Italian. In addition, 8.64% came from Germany, 8.54% came from Benelux, 8.28% came from the UK and Ireland, 7.10% came from France, 2.8% came from Austria and Switzerland, 2.04% came from Scandinavia, 1.57% came from Greece and 1.40% came from Turkey.

The show also drew 1,313 visitors from USA and Canada, 420 from Latin America and 415 from Eastern Europe.

The next edition of Bread and Butter Barcelona will run January 17-19, 2007.
