UBM Americas, US largest business-to-business events and trade show organizer behind fashion fairs like Magic, Project and ENK, has announced various executive appointments within its fashion group, following the acquisition of Advanstar Communications Inc. for $972 million exactly one year ago.

The first appointment involves Chris DeMoulin, who has been named managing director of fashion for UBM Americas, reporting directly to Simon Foster, CEO of UBM Americas. DeMoulin served most recently as president of licensing and executive vice president, customer development, powersports and automotive, for UBM Advanstar (fashion business branch of the company). Previously, he oversaw Advanstar’s fashion business, acting as president of Magic from 2008 to 2012.

Tommy Fazio, current president of UBM Advanstar men’s fashion, has been promoted to the role of president of retail fashion. Former Advanstar member since 2012, Fazio will be now implementing retail engagement strategy across the fashion business and continuing the development of new programs to connect retailers directly with exhibitors.

Finally, Erik Ulin will take over Fazio’s role as president of men’s fashion, overseeing the male business including events Magic, Project, The Tents, The Collective and Pooltradeshow. Ulin joins UBM after holding the presidency of J.Lindeberg USA.

Both Tommy Fazio and Erik Ulin will report to Chris DeMoulin.

Advanstar’s CEO, Joe Loggia, who agreed with UBM to stay on for a period after the deal was closed last year, will leave the company at the end of the year.
