British fashion e-tailer Asos has announced that Nick Robertson, founder of the firm and chief executive for 15 years, is to step down from his position with immediate effect. He will remain with the company as a non-executive director.

The Asos board further announced that Nick Beighton will take over the position as CEO. Beighton joined the company as chief financial officer in April 2009 and has since worked closely with Nick Robertson on the business growth, according to Asos. Beighton was appointed chief operating officer in October 2014, taking over further responsibilities beyond finance. In April this year, Helen Ashton was announced to succeed Beighton as chief financial officer on September 1.

No reasons for Nick Robertson's withdrawal from Asos were disclosed by the company.
