Shoestorming is the name of the creative competition driven by Spanish footwear label Art, which serves for an artistic approach to shoe conception with the support of upcoming young designers. This years’ sixth edition has been won by Blanca Garcia in the ‘hand-made’ category and her shoe embedded with colorful buttons. Garcia will receive a cash prize of 2,000€. The other three wining categories were ‘flexibility’, ‘recycling’, and ‘lightness’, each awarded with 1,000€. Besides, all four winners will also see their designs illustrating the forthcoming fall/winter 2016 marketing material of Art –whether at POS, in catalogues or in trade shows.

Around 110 participants sent their creations this year, all Spanish students from the Universidad Pública del País Vasco in San Sebastián and Universidad Jaime I in Castellón de la Plana. The Shoestorming jury included Spanish university members, Art’s head of design José Luis Jaussi Nieva and artist Alberto Marcos.
